Ultimaker 2 v2.1.4 Motherboard with Display and Control Board Extended UM2 Makers Hut
The X axis of my Ultimaker 2+ has stopped working and it makes strange noises and vibrations. If I switch X and Y (or Z) stepper motor on the main board, then the same problem shows on the other axis. This means that the stepper motor is working. I assume that there is a problem in the stepper driver on the main board.

Recently sold my working UM2 (+) which was sent via courier but upon arrival, looks like it was knocked during handling and nothing was working. I've since got it back and starting to try to diagnose.

Posted May 8, 2015 · Powering Raspberry Pi from Ultimaker 2 main board I've done this, I just hopped over to digi-key, picked out something that met the specs, plus a USB type-A port. Works like a charm. A DC/DC step-down from 24V should work fine, much better than using the 5V from the UM2 directly.

31 posts Posted December 10, 2021 · Replaced main board of my Ultimaker 2+, but it does not boot? I had problems with the Z-direction stepper motor and decided to replace my mainboard. I ordered a original Ultimaker board and swap them. (being very mindfull to connect the cables at the right positions. When I power up the printer this happens.

21 posts Author Posted July 21, 2016 · Installing new main board in Ultimaker 2 Ok just ignore that post. I looked in the how to document for the original machine. Removed the cover for the display board and the control wheel and matched up EXP1 and 2 on the display board with the EXP1 and 2 on the main board. Should work I would expect. valcrow

Thanks for your help. i have an UM2+ whit Duet2Wifi and yes if you want to keep the stock hotend as I did then you need the PT100 daughterboard. But if you gonna use a E3D V6 and its sensors then you won't need the daughter board. if you upgrade to a duet2wifi then I can share my config file.
